Davis Technical College Annual Community Recognition Luncheon
On May 11, members of the community learned the importance of planting seeds.
Over lunch provided by the Culinary Arts program and music provided by Julee Reynolds of the Pharmacy Technician program, the Foundation honored the following four people and individuals who help change lives for the better:
• Ann Millner received the Community Advocate of the Year Award
• LDS Business College received the Education Partner of the Year Award
• Lincoln Electric received the Business Partner of the Year Award
• The Simmons family received the Haven J. Barlow Legacy Award
Each of the honorees reflected on how their partnerships with Davis Technical College had enhanced the lives of students and the community.
Foundation Chair Lloyd Carr paid tribute to Founding Foundation Board Member Jean Madsen, who recently passed away. Three students, Nickolas Smith, Estrella King and Tyler Beyeler shared the profound ways that receiving scholarships impacted their lives, making it possible for them to achieve their dreams and support their families. Foundation director Marcie Valdez encouraged everyone attending the luncheon to continue planting seeds so that the college and Foundation can continue changing students' lives for the better.
