Students design new building

The Davis Tech Health Occupations Programs have significantly outgrown the current medical wing and now have displaced/relocated programs both on and off campus. The displacement of all the classroom and lab spaces is inefficient and presents significant challenges to collaboration and training within the programs. The proposed Allied Heath Building will bring all the Health Occupation Programs under one roof.

Students in the Architectural and Engineering Design Program at Davis Tech were given the challenge of designing this large and complex building as their final assignment in the Commercial Drafting course.

Student’s designs are of their own origination and were done in the latest architectural 3D software. Each student not only designed but also create a working set of drawing for their design. Their assignment was to envision a building that meets the client’s needs, addresses required building code requirements, and works within the existing campus fabric.
